Cheers to a spa-velous weekend!!!
Ahh, the cherished "week-end" is here! We all need to take some time out of our day to relax. Sometimes, however, it's only on that snowy Friday night or lazy Saturday that we actually take advantage of a sip of bubbly and a soak in the tub. Do you wanna create a spa at home this weekend (or any time) to alleviate the stress of the day from work, school, or any other pressures in life? Then keep reading!
One good way to relax is by creating your own "at-home spa experience." You can do this by incorporating therapeutic grade Young Living essential oils into your normal morning and evening routines. Here are few ideas to try:
Create a calming bath: Mix Epsom salts, baking soda (1/2 C each) and about 5 to 10 drops of a calming essential oil into a warm bath. Some recommended essential oils to use are Lavender, Bergamot, or Peppermint. The essential oils in the bath are calming because they are inhaled and have direct contact with the skin. The soda and salt help muscles relax and absorb the oils--I recommend at least 20 minutes with soothing music, candles or absolute silence--it's your spa -- indulge yourself with what YOU love and need!
Enhance your lotions. I love YL's Genesis hand and body lotion. I actually add a carrier oil to stretch it out a bit--it's thick and luxurious on its own--I just like it last longer--it's up to you. Add a couple of drops of Tea Tree, Lavender, Cedarwood, or Frankincense essential oils into your lotions. You’ll be amazed by the results. Oh, they'll smell so good!
Relax with a foot bath. Mix a couple of drops of Lavender, Tea Tree, Peppermint, or Bergamot essential oils to into a square-sized bucket that’s big enough for your feet. Make sure the oils are evenly mixed in the water and dip your feet in. You’ll love the way your feet will feel after this foot bath!
Diffuse: If you're out of baking soda and/or epsom salts, add them to your grocery list. And still take a calming bath. Set up your diffuser with something awesome--like Cedarwood and Pine if you're in the mood to sit in the forrest; or Ylang Ylang and Black Pepper--its scent is of carnations and lovely and kinda sexy; or Lavender would do the trick for a scent-sational relaxing tub. Got a hot date later tonight? By all means, soak away the day but diffuse Peppermint--and after your bath, towel dry, put Joy, Ylang Ylang and/or Lady Sclareol on your pulse points and behind your ears--and don't forget that drop of peppermint on your tongue for a super-powered hello!
Oh, yeah--don't forget the organic strawberries! They're just soooo spa-velous!
